Thank You for hunting us down during the AQS Quilt Show 2008  our Show Location at 212 Broadway was across the street from 2007. WE Had a poster for our group of Fiber artists. The reason for the move?

We sold our building at 215 Broadway in favor of a new building in March 2008. For now, Helene's Hand-dye fabric is back under climate control at home and her stash is back to the Climate Controlled warehouse.

Our friend Rachel is writing a pretty good Blog about Fiber Art in Paducah. Check it out

AQS Quilt Show 2007

This was our Store in Paducah, KY during the week of the AQS Quilt Show in 2007

We had a show we called "Colorblock Quilts and Others" Set up in the front

We had ordered a bunch of expanding Shower Curtain Rods and using Conduit pipe we were able to hang quilts in the open Space

The quilt in the center is "Totem"  It was the cover Quilt for the "Art Quilts Lowell 2007"  Show Brochure.  During the AQS Quilt Show in Paducah 2008 it is at the Wayne Art Center in Wayne PA showing in "Art Quilt Elements"  Elements may be it's last show because we heard there was a red dot next to the label.

The quilt to the right of Totem is "Tooth I Root Canals" which got a fair amount of attention in the 7 Jan 2005 edition of the "San Diego Union-Tribune"  InStyle Section.  Helene had dedicated the piece to Dr Bartlett, her Dentist in NJ, who she said "Sounds like a pear but who is really a peach." It was part of the "Quilt Visions 2004"  exhibit.

You can see more of her quilts here.  You can see more of the color block exhibit here.

Of course Helene also sells her hand dye fabric. Here is the "Wall of Color" of fat eights.  We had a lot of customers who were doing appliqué or fused work that needed to get just a bit of the right color for their work. The fabric Helene uses has a high thread count and resists raveling. For hand stitching it does need a fine needle.

Mostly the attraction is her yards at $22 per 38 X 42 inches a piece.  This is the other side of the room. This year she will also be selling some 22X60 Shibori which is slightly over a square yard of fabric for the same price as a linear yard of her regular yards.

Fabricholics will recognize this scene.  This is a small part of Helene's "Stash" that we sold  at 3 cents a gram.  If you are wondering, that is about $2.50- $3.50 a 42 inch yard.  We have been keeping it in a climate controlled warehouse. It is worth it to keep the fabric in good condition. Despite the quantity of fabric that walked out the door we have barely made a dent.  All those Hoffman's and John Kaldor's  and Nancy Crow's and Island Batik's  and .. and.

We have Hand-dye Tee Shirts as well.

Most of the pieces are at least 1/2 yard.

We are going to repeat in 2008 but we sold the building so the sale will be in a storefront across the street
